I went into The Life of Chuck not knowing anything about it other than the fact that it was a Stephen King novel. I assumed the film would be a thriller, and I was wrong in the best way possible.
Put them in
Mike Flanagan is a director I was unfamiliar with – so my expectations were really low. That being said – The Life of Chuck excelled at what makes a great thriller – portraying characters with unique and mysterious situations.
I recommend it
I want to keep my criticism relatively vague, because the hook of the film works best when you go in without knowing much. It was melancholic and I appreciated the artistry that was brought to it.
